OfferLand data methodology
This page explains where the numbers on OfferLand school pages, program pages and results search come from, how they are calculated, and what to keep in mind when you use them. Every figure is a site sample statistic based on self-reported results. None of it is official school data.
What the data is
The data is admission results that Taiwanese applicants report themselves on OfferLand. Each result records one program and degree at one school, the outcome (admit or reject) and any scholarship. Applicants also fill in a background: GPA and test scores such as TOEFL, IELTS, GRE and GMAT. That background is linked to every result they report.
You can browse the individual results in admission results search and the per-school figures in the school directory.

Results and applicants are counted from the database when this page loads. Schools and programs come from the latest daily statistics run (schools and programs with at least one result).
Definitions
- In data summaries, field pages and official columns, admit rate = (admits + decided to attend) ÷ (admits + decided to attend + rejects). "Decided to attend" is an admit the applicant has accepted, so it counts as an admit.
- That admit rate leaves out waitlisted and pending results. The stat cards on school and program pages are precomputed daily and divide by all reports for that school or program, waitlisted and pending included, so they can differ slightly from the data summary.
- Data summaries and field pages show the median GPA of admitted applicants, converted to a 4.0 scale (GPA ÷ maximum × 4; converted values above 4.3 are dropped). The stat cards on school and program pages show the converted average. Each official column states its own GPA method in its data notes.
- In data summaries, field pages and official columns each person counts once for test scores. Score distributions on school and program pages are counted per result.
- Admit rates, GPAs and test score figures on the site are labeled as site sample statistics.
Known biases and limits
- People who were admitted report more often than people who were rejected, so admit rates here are usually higher than the schools’ real admit rates.
- Some older results were entered after the fact, so the report date is not always the decision date.
- Many programs have only a few reports, and a single result can move a percentage a lot.
- These figures are not official school data and do not describe any school’s admission requirements.
Minimum sample size
Data summaries, field pages and official columns do not show figures based on fewer than 5 results. Score distributions on school and program pages need at least 3 results.
Rankings used
School pages show the QS World University Rankings 2027 and the U.S. News Best National Universities 2027 (U.S. schools only). The whole site uses one edition and updates every school together when a new edition comes out.
Update schedule
- Admission results appear in results search and on the applicant’s page as soon as they are reported.
- School and program statistics (admit rate, GPA, test score distributions) are recalculated once a day at 12:00 noon Taiwan time (04:00 UTC).
- Rankings are updated once a year when the new editions are published.
Privacy
School and program pages show only aggregate figures. Individual results appear in results search and on the applicant’s page. Applicants can report anonymously, and then their name and photo are not shown publicly.
