Must-Haves Before Going Abroad: International Student Card & Youth Card

Must-Haves Before Going Abroad: International Student Card & Youth Card (1/4)

This post follows on from my last one about student flights. If you haven't officially enrolled and received your school's physical student ID yet, I suggest getting an ISIC international student card first to use as proof of student status. Besides the international student card for 【students】, 【working holiday makers】 under 30 can apply for an international youth card to get some extra discounts!

Applying for the international student card & youth card is very easy and the review is very fast. In my experience, you get it really quickly!

【International Student Identity Card (ISIC)】

  • Proof of student status you can provide when buying flights before you get your school's student ID

  • The international student card gets you various student discounts around the world 【ISIC】 The International Student Identity Card (ISIC) is currently the only internationally recognized proof of full-time student status, issued in more than 130 countries and regions. With this card, you may get all kinds of student discounts, not just in the UK but in other countries too!

ISIC Taiwan | A world of student benefits

Kang Wen (康文) promotes and issues the International Student Identity Card (ISIC) in Taiwan and advises people planning to travel or study abroad. It aims to connect Taiwanese students with the world and encourage students on a tight budget to go abroad while they're young, broaden their horizons and take part in cultural exchange

I used to think you could only get an international student card if your university issued it to you. Later I found out it's global, and you can even apply on your own when you're going abroad for grad school! Personally, I think it's one of those documents worth keeping on you; having it only helps😆 You never know when it'll suddenly come in handy, so I'm passing this on to you all~!
