A Girl's Guide to Christmas in Tokyo|My Top 3 Must-Visit Spots🎄✨👯‍♀️

Every December, central Tokyo is wrapped in Christmas spirit

It's not just the Christmas markets: the streets, department stores and plazas all get romantic, winter-only displays💐

December is probably my favorite month in Japan🥰

I've spent three Decembers in a row in my “Great Tokyo Empire”

This year I want to share “A Girl's Guide to Christmas in Tokyo|My Top 3 Must-Visit Spots”

🎄 Ebisu|Visited twice at Christmas I'd actually been to Ebisu a lot before. It's great for a walk or brunch

But it wasn't until last Christmas that I finally went to Yebisu Garden Place💐 It was all over IG at the time🔥

A whole row of lights + a super gorgeous crystal chandelier right in the middle

The moment I saw the photos, I decided: I'm going!

📍 Getting there JR Ebisu Station (恵比寿駅) ➛ after exiting, look for “恵比寿ガーデンプレイス” (Yebisu Garden Place) ➛ follow the signs all the way (it really is a long walk, don't start questioning your life choices) ➛ cross one street and a Christmas tree will be there to greet you ➛ the illuminated avenue ➛ and finally the dreamy crystal chandelier ✨

One small downside: there aren't many Christmas market stalls

I'd recommend coming for a walk to see the lights after dinner (there's lots of good food nearby)

Or just eat at the department store. Garden Place has quite a few good restaurants! (I wrote a restaurant guide before if you want to check it out)

🎄 Tokyo Station|Visited twice at Christmas Marunouchi Illumination (丸の内イルミネーション)

The famous Christmas spot at Tokyo Station

Lots of Christmas market stalls, and the whole of Marunouchi Naka-dori is lit up. It looks great wherever you walk and however you shoot it ✨

megapxmegapxmegapx

The most famous photo spot: right across from Tokyo Station. The shots look like postcards 🎅🏻🎁

Of the three, this is my favorite Christmas spot. But a heads-up 👉 the wind is seriously strong and freezing, so cold you can barely smile

🎄 Roppongi|Visited once at Christmas

I went ice skating in Roppongi with friends

Skating under the lights with Tokyo Tower in the distance was so romantic and so much fun 🗼✨

But it's really cold!!! So cold my nose wouldn't stop running (hopeless)

After skating you can head straight to the mall across the street to warm up and shop. The whole vibe is great, and the lights are beautiful too🥰

I just didn't make it to the most famous photo spot. There were way too many people 🙈

✨ Wrap-up That's my list of the top 3 must-visit Christmas spots in Tokyo🎄✉️

If I come back to Tokyo for Christmas, the new spot I most want to check off is “Meiji Jingu Gaien 🎄”

If you love Christmas in Tokyo too, I really recommend coming in December

“A little cold is fine. The romance makes up for it ✨”
