Content that is barely meaningful, overly repetitive or long-winded.

Serious and frequent grammar errors.

Scoring criteria (IELTS) exam scoring criteria: a high-scoring IELTS essay includes

1. Lexical Resource: the more varied your vocabulary, and the more

similar words you use in one essay to express the same idea, the higher your IELTS essay score

Try to use words at B1 level or above.

2. Grammatical Range and Accuracy: grammatical accuracy

The highest grammatical accuracy, and the more relative pronouns, complex

sentences, correct connectives and punctuation, the higher the score; the simpler

the grammar and the more errors, the lower the score

3. Task Achievement: staying on topic

Whether the answer addresses the question asked: a clear position

backed by details and examples scores higher; leaving parts unanswered, straying far off topic,

taking an ambiguous position or failing to state a clear position scores lower.

4. Coherence and Cohesion: coherence

Coherent meaning: the more logically ideas and arguments are arranged, and the more appropriately

transition words link one sentence to the next, the higher the score, and vice versa
