4 Reasons I Chose to Study in Germany

🔸"Why did you choose to study in Germany?"
This is probably the question I get asked most since coming to Germany. I had four main reasons: some personal, and some about Germany itself.

🔸My design background
I studied industrial design, and Germany happens to be where industrial design began, so I wanted to come here to explore industrial design culture at its most authentic and experience the local design scene.

🔸Affordable tuition
Compared with other popular study-abroad countries like the US, Canada and the UK, Germany is much more affordable. At my university, for example, one semester costs a little over 300 €, which is cheaper than tuition at many private universities in Taiwan.

🔸A second foreign language
Besides the English I had studied since I was a kid, I wanted the chance to learn a second foreign language. It builds your skills and makes you more competitive down the road.

🔸Personal preference
Compared with the US and Canada, Europe has always had a special appeal for me. Ever since I was young, I hoped to set foot in Europe one day, experience the culture and take in the beautiful scenery.

🧡Debby's honest take
Looking back now, the reasons that pushed me to study in Germany were really very simple. But it's often these simple ideas that let you take that step without fear and slowly move toward your goals.
