🔔 High school student, 102 on the first try (Reading 30): I recommend SK2

I'm really grateful for all the help and resources SK2 gave me. The preview videos, after-class consultant sessions, cloud materials and so on were really helpful and very well organized. The articles the consultants wrote also gave me a lot of confidence. I believe the skills I learned and the confidence I gained at SK2 will help me a lot in the future, for the rest of my life! Also, Chris's playlist is really good! If you get the chance, come take classes at SK2 and listen to the songs he's saved!

Reading

Reading was already a section I felt fairly confident about, but TOEFL's special question types, like summary questions and sentence simplification questions, left me puzzled. Luckily, Chris taught us skimming and scanning and reading techniques like the yellow-and-green highlighter method in class, and Chris and the TAs Rosa and Sidney helped me and answered my questions during consultant hours and one-on-one TA sessions. That let me get a perfect score on the real test.

Consultant hours

I think SK2's unlimited after-class consultant hours are great! They're all scheduled after school and after work, so I could go often. Chris and Rosa always carefully mark everyone's essays and give feedback. For speaking, I only went to Li-Yi's consultant hours, but I really liked how she points out blind spots right away and gives an estimated score based on listening, so I could quickly see what my problems were. Finally, there are the one-on-one special clinics, where a consultant analyzes and reviews each person's practice and goals and gives advice. All of this helped me a lot as I prepared for the TOEFL.

🔔 110 on the second try, perfect scores in Reading and Listening: I recommend SK2TOEFL's dedicated teaching

Reading was probably the section I worried about least. Before the test I thought my reading speed was decent and didn't think I needed much preparation. But after doing some practice sets, I found that if I read the whole passage first and then looked for answers, the way I'd prepared for past exams, time got a bit tight because I had to keep going back to the passage. So I combined the method the teacher taught in class with my own reading habits: I read with a purpose based on the questions, one paragraph at a time. That let me find the answers to questions 1-9 efficiently while also following the flow of the whole passage, so I could handle the summary question (question 10) calmly. This method helped me get a perfect Reading score on both tests. Many thanks to the teacher for the help.
