Taiwan Ministry of Education EU Scholarship for the Erasmus+ Program: application guide, interview, document prep, and my experience

Among the many options for studying abroad, dual degrees are especially appealing. You can earn degrees from more than one school within the same bachelor's, master's, or PhD period, and experience studying in two or more countries. The EU's Erasmus Mundus Program is a particularly high-quality dual-degree scheme that has drawn many international students in recent years, and every program has its own scholarship. However, getting admitted to a program (an OFFER) already has a fairly high bar, and the scholarships are often oversubscribed. So many students work hard to get an admission letter, and then, without scholarship funding, tuition and local living costs become a heavy financial burden.

To encourage and help more Taiwanese students pursue their dream of studying in Europe, the Ministry of Education set up a dedicated scholarship for students admitted to an Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degree, providing €12,000 (per year) during their studies. This year (2022) I was lucky enough to receive this scholarship, and I hope my experience can serve as a reference for other students and younger schoolmates as they prepare.

After confirming you're eligible for the scholarship, you still have to submit the related documents and mail materials to the Ministry of Education's office at the EU. Only after clearing every step can you actually receive the €12,000 scholarship.

So my next article covers the follow-up steps that weren't mentioned before, along with my tips and answers to questions I ran into. I hope it helps people who need scholarship funding and gives anyone planning to apply for this scholarship a more complete picture.
