Tour | Waseda's WID International Student Dorm 🐰🤍😍
As the title says: sharing Waseda's WID international student dorm 🐰🤍😍
Last year, when I was getting ready to study abroad, I kept looking up info on the school's dorms
I spent quite a lot of time searching for info and reviews
and found there wasn't much out there 😿
So I wanted to show everyone what a Japanese dorm looks like 🥳
I applied through the link the school provided and was entered into a lottery~
🐰My first choice: CREVIA WILL WASEDA クレヴィアウィル早稲田
https://cvw-waseda.jp/
🐰My second choice: WID WASEDA DORM
https://wasedalife.com/en/dormitory/widwaseda/
CREVIA WILL WASEDA happened to be completely full for the spring semester
so I moved into my second choice, WID WASEDA DORM
(After living there for a year, I'm pretty happy I ended up at WID WASEDA DORM)
Once your application is accepted, you'll get an email from Kyoritsu (共立株式會社)
with your move-in notice, payment request and other important documents, and you pay the initial fees
🐰My rent~
Check the official website for the latest info
🫧Dorm fee (breakfast and dinner included): ¥96,600 / month
I wrote a post about the dorm's breakfast and dinner before, you can check it out here

🐰Getting around:
🫧About 3 min on foot from Waseda Station (都電荒川線「早稲田」駅) on the Toden Arakawa Line
🫧About 12 min on foot from Waseda Station (東京メトロ東西線「早稲田」駅) on the Tokyo Metro Tozai Line
🫧Ridiculously close to campus, about a five-minute walk. I always slept until the last possible second and then ran to class :)
🫧There's a 7-Eleven, a FamilyMart and a supermarket right nearby, all a 2-minute walk
🐰Room type:
🫧Single room
🫧Bed, desk, chair, desk lamp, wardrobe, fridge, balcony
🐰Facilities:
🫧Each floor has shared bathrooms, a shared kitchen and a lounge
🫧The 1st floor has a public bath, a student cafeteria, vending machines, a copier and a trash collection area
🫧The management office is staffed 24 hours, so it's very safe
🐰Events/highlights:
🫧There are themed events almost every month, a great way to get to know other residents
🫧There are always welcome events at the start of each semester
🫧Every floor has an RA (kind of like a class rep), and you can ask them whenever you run into problems
🫧It's right by the Kanda River, which is gorgeous during cherry blossom season. On a high floor you can see the sakura just by opening your window 🌸
This is my room~~~
It's really small, but it's enough for me since I don't have much stuff (?
Also the dorm mirror is great for selfies hahaha xd!!
(Couldn't find a photo of the entryway, so here's one a friend sneakily took of me)
This is the shared kitchen. Couldn't find a photo of the kitchen either 😢
A few final thoughts:
🫧What I liked most is the location. It's so close to school that I didn't have to get up early and squeeze onto those terrifying packed trains, so I had plenty of energy in class 🤩
🫧Next is the international exchange. It's a great way to meet students from all over. I made really good friends here from Japan, Korea, Hong Kong, Europe and the US, and China
We'd regularly go out to eat together, cook and eat in the dorm kitchen, or even study and have late-night snacks in the lounge in the middle of the night. We got really close, and whenever someone moved out to go home, we'd all end up crying our eyes out 😿 For me, besides being a great way to practice foreign languages, it's also a really wonderful memory 🥳🫶🏻❤️
The only downside: bringing friends in is a bit of a hassle. They have to fill out a form and get a visitor ID, and they must leave by 9 p.m.
When I moved out last month, the dorm manager and the housemother both came out to see me off
and said some really touching things. My heart was so full 🥹🤍🫶🏻
If I had to choose again, I'd still pick the WID dorm ❤️
