When studying abroad really tests people's character

Group essays come down entirely to who you're with. A good group gets everything done efficiently, but nobody would want to go through a bad group a second time. Sometimes the professor assigns groups however they feel like that day. If you get an Indian student, more than 80% of the time they'll just carry you, but there are exceptions. I once had a groupmate who was late to every discussion, turned in all the research we asked him to find late, and even wrote his own part terribly. He totally gave up. Later I found out his family was super rich and he didn't need the degree at all, and he dropped out before the semester even ended to travel the world. So irresponsible. Luckily everyone else in the group still carried, and we passed in the end~
