Inside LVMH's Japan HQ🇯🇵|What it's like to talk with luxury executives⁉️pt2

For the backstory, read this post first~

LVMH's Japan headquarters is in Chiyoda, Tokyo

That day I got up early to get ready😍🔥💕

Before the event I'd met a Chinese girl online who had also been accepted to the event

We agreed to meet in Chiyoda and go together><

Around LVMH offices Japan, it's all upscale office buildings

Friendly student ambassadors greeted us on the ground floor and took us upstairs🧑‍🎓

Once inside the HQ, we couldn't stop gasping✨ The office is so... so beautiful🔥🔥🔥

For someone like me who adores luxury and is passionate about it, this was a dream world🫧

The walls display the brands' classic bags, a perfect expression of LVMH's brand concept

❣️Before the event

First you check in and get assigned to a group; there were 5~6 teams

For the whole day, you work through the challenges with that team

Everyone gets their own Passport admission ticket and a notebook (with your name on it)

Before it starts, each team has a short icebreaker to get to know each other and introduce themselves

Every team had international students from different countries and Japanese returnees who grew up abroad🩶

Basically 80–90% of the whole event was in English

❣️The event begins

LVMH executives took turns on stage introducing the group and its brand concepts, and the day's schedule

megapx

❣️First half

Executives from each brand share their brand philosophy📝 in small groups‼️

There are task cards on the table with questions about the brand and the job

For example, asking the manager to explain the brand concept / a typical workday / the brand event they got the most out of

Take good notes on all of this, because there's a presentation at the end✏️

After the task cards there's open Q&A, a chance to talk with the brand managers🫶🏻

I'd also prepared questions I was curious about beforehand and made sure to ask them

❣️Lunch break

The student ambassadors turned the long meeting tables into an upscale dining space🥣

They prepared a generous, delicious, beautiful lunch and all kinds of soft drinks for everyone to enjoy🍾🍣🍞

Lunch is also a time to get to know each other, and it was so much fun!

❣️Second half

HR staff from each brand share interview tips‼️

I think the international students who apply to this event are all hoping to work at companies in the industry💓

So HR people were invited to share what to watch out for in interviews and some tricks (also in small groups)

❣️After the activities, each group presents

Everyone draws a random task card and answers its question along with their own thoughts😏

You answer in English, and a photographer takes pictures the whole time

megapx

❣️After Party

To wrap up, there was champagne from the group's brands plus little cakes and desserts🍷

And the executives raised a toast with everyone!!!

Everyone got to take home the pull tab from the brand's champagne as a keepsake💕

There were also little games, and the winners got brand gifts (I kind of forget what, I think it was something from DIOR)

megapx

❣️And finally

We took a big group photo, swapped IGs, then drank champagne, ate desserts and chatted

Quite a few people also went to talk with executives from brands they were interested in

❣️A few thoughts

For me this event was a huge step out of my comfort zone. I was really worried and scared I wouldn't fit in🥹

Because everyone was insanely impressive, and almost all of them spoke three languages

That day I used more than 100% of my social energy and turned into a social beast :)

megapx

I talked a lot with the other participants and the student ambassadors and made good friends!✨🥰💓 ❣️

What I got the most out of: the most memorable part was when my group got to LOEWE

I asked the manager: luxury brands are bound to get all kinds of customer complaints, how do you handle them???

The manager shared three steps, which made the brand's thinking very clear

Let her say

Make connection with her

Try to know client’s thoughts

(Side story) At Waseda I sometimes post about my life on Xiaohongshu (RED), and that day a Chinese international student actually came up and asked if I was a Xiaohongshu blogger>< I was so flattered :)

megapx

For me it was a rare and precious experience

I never thought I'd one day get to walk into the 🇯🇵LVMH Office

and connect with international students from all over as someone from Taiwan💓

It's a wonderful memory! I also exchanged contacts with the other students and really grew my circle of friends❣️💕
